Pushkar is a city in Rajasthan that has held the title of a sanctimonious place for Hindus. The mythology tells the tale of Lord Brahma (The creator of the universe) seeking vengeance from an evil being by slaying him with lotus. The petals scattered and, one fell in the sandy-mound land of Pushkar. That petal blossomed in what we know as the holy Pushkar lake. Hence, the emergence of a lake in a land covered by dunes might or might not be folklore but is irrefutably a city worshipped by many.
