Five best places for photography in Leh-Ladakh

If Ladakh has been there in your checklist since your college days then this is only for you. There is no argument about the scenic beauty of Ladakh. Even if you are not a professional photographer, every frame will make an ordinary photographer a professional one. But there are five places you must try for your photography to flaunt your travel diary on social media. Once you have been there in this beautiful place you will not be the same person anymore.

NUBRA VALLEY

Only 90’s kids can relate to the feel of Arabian Nights and Aladdin which you could feel in this valley. Yes, the mysterious sand dunes and the famous two-humped camels are also found in this region.

During the trip to Nubra valley, don’t forget to appreciate the beauty of mountain ridges of the Zanskar. You will get to see some rare plantation and high altitude desert landscape. So what else you want to capture through your camera, a perfect landscape in silhouette.

LAMAYURU MONASTERY

This one is the oldest monastery in Ladakh, located approximately 127kms from Leh. If you have ever dreamt to see a beautiful starry night with someone special then, this place is perfect for you. Away from the cities hustle and any job routine. Here, you can witness a sky full of stars and promises to breath in clean air. For photographers, have you ever witnessed so many stars in Delhi? Stop waiting, it’s a time to capture them all. Don’t forget to get your zoom lens with you.

PANGONG LAKE

Only 160kms away from Leh, you can witness the most mesmerizing blue colour of Pangong Lake. Remember that last scene from 3 idiots where Kareen Kapoor met Amir Khan at the lakeside. Yes, exactly that beautiful lake is Pangong Lake. The journey could be harsh and breathtaking but worthy enough to witness this beaut

ZANSKAR VALLEY

Most of the adventure enthusiasts may be familiar with this place. This one is famous for seasonal river rafting but more important for the trek over Zanskar River in November when the river is frozen. The trek is done in large groups and communities of adventure enthusiasts. Zanskar mountain range, without a doubt, one of the most desolate places in the Himalayan ranges.

SHANTI STUPA

This place is one of the most culturally important places in Ladakh. This was enshrined by the 14th Dalai Lama himself. You can sit beside the Stupa and do a little meditation for inner peace. But for Photographers, Shanti Stupa also offers panoramic views of the landscape around it. Also, the night time view can surprise you with the fair play of light, shadow and starry night.
