5 things to do in Delhi on weekend

Delhi has some hidden gems when it comes to make your weekend exciting. Whether you are introvert or extrovert, this place serves you with options where you can chose to sit in peace or to socialize as much as you can.

There are five things you must try on this weekend.

1. Visit to Old Delhi

This city has a lot to offer when it comes to its culture, architect and old history. In winters, a long walk in these old structures can make you fall in love with Delhi. So make most of your weekend and plan a visit to one of these places in Delhi. Places to visit: Jama Masjid, Humayun Tomb, Lodhi Garden, India Gate, Red fort, Hauz khas

2. Say “ Shopping”

Delhi is one of the best places in India where you can get best clothes at cheap prices. This city offers you with big brand showroom, as well as local markets at many places in Delhi. If you are a college student, shopping in Delhi should be in your list. But try to avoid Sundays for shopping as they are super crowded but you can prefer Saturdays for shopping to these places.

3. Museum and Movies

If you are a cinephile who love conventional and unconventional cinema both then you are at a perfect place. There are many places in delhi where you can enjoy cinema in many languages like French, Italian, Russian and several others. For exploring more art in delhi , there is an entire hub for it . From classic to contemporary, you will find lot more in this city. Places to watch Films: Indian Habitat Centre, Iron Curtain, Max Mueller Bhavan, American Centre, India international centre, Instituto Cervantes.

Places to explore art: National Gallery of Modern Art, Lalit Kala Akademi.

4. Morning at Yamuna Ghat

If you want to give a fresh start to these two “golden days of week”, wake up before sunrise to reach Yamuna Ghat near Kashmiri Gate. It sounds tiresome just after the hectic weekdays but It is worthy enough. You will witness this same city with a new perspective. For budding photographers, it is a best place to capture the beautiful sunrise, birds, boats and Yamuna.

5. Cafes in “ Majnu ka Tila”

You won’t believe if I tell you that there is a place in Delhi which looks like mini Tibet, not talking about weather, but food, culture and people. So fasten your shoe laces to Majnu ka Tila. It’s a small Tibetan Refugee Society near Vidhan Sabha Metro Station. Try local food of Tibet at cheap prices and don’t forget to spin those prayer wheels.
